Midi skirts and midi dresses were pretty popular last season, and now it would seem they are back with a vengeance! I really wasn’t keen on the trend last year, being 5 foot 3 I worried they would flood me. However, after trying one on earlier in the year and realising that they don’t look utterly ridiculous on my small self, I now own a small (growing) collection.

Midi Dresses
The Print Dress

This dress floral print from Monsoon is gorgeous! It’s definitely not something I would usually wear but I couldn’t resist! It’s perfect for summer, styled with some sandals and a denim jacket this will be perfect for a casual BBQ look.
The Tea Dress

This floral Midi dress is from Penney’s and I absolutely love it! It’s a “tea dress” style (apparently), and it flows really nicely. The back is slightly longer than the front which gives it a nice shape. It also means that us petite girls can wear it without having to get it altered, or trip over ourselves when we walk. A win/win really!

Midi Skirts
The Linen Look

This linen midi skirt from New Look is so cute! It’s a button up – with three tortoiseshell buttons, and a subtle slit on the side. I was unsure about the length initially, but the little slit helps break it up and elongate your leg. As you can tell from the pic – linen creases easily but it’s such a nice fabric to wear during the summer months!
The Floral

This floral midi skirt is a bit more fitted than the one above. It’s a very versatile piece, and can be dressed up or down. As you can see, I’ve gone for a casual look with trainers, a white tee, and a denim jacket thrown over. But you could style with heels and a leather jacket for a night time look.
The Leopard Print

Leopard print is my new favourite thing (never thought I’d say that)! This midi skirt, also from New Look, is uber flowy. Again, this is something you can dress up or down. I teamed it with a leather jacket, white tee, and my trusty dad trainers.
